Using Yoga Props

We love using yoga props.

B.K.S. Iyengar revived and developed into an art the use of props, but the ancient yogis used some props themselves (like a yoga danda).
Sometimes, for some practitioners the use of props is perceived as weakness, but the use of it is actually sharpens the practice.
Here are some purposes and why we like using it so much.
Using props will allow us to practice asanas that we struggle with in better precision, maintaining the alignment of our bodies in those asanas.
To bring awareness for a specific body part.
Protecting / stretching / aligning / opening parts of our body specifically and efficiently.
To better understand an action.
Practice restorative asanas, allowing the body and mind to feel safe and fully relax.
And more.
However it is important not to become dependent on the use of props. Most likely, with practice, we can give up the use of them (except with shoulder-stand).

Enjoy 😊
